I caught well over 100 fish in the 13 hours we fished and the fish were big by anyones standards. We caught many fish over 3 # it is worth the money. The fish fight hard and they are everywhere. I took my 14 and 18 year old and we caught fish on scuds drys glowballs woolys it was like the first 15 minutes at the trout parks for 13 hours straight they never stopped biting our arms are sore from catching fish.if you get a chance try it once you will never forget it
tippett7 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Do they charge you to fish there if you don't keep any? Where is this located? I live in Branson.

Members crawfly Posted July 27, 2009 Members Posted July 27, 2009 I used to fish there a bit in the ............... well, let's just say they refused to do a C & R fee. They just weren't gonna do it. So, I would tip out with 1 lb tippet and "practice" hooking and fighting fish. Sometimes 1/2 lb tippet. Got rid of a lot of flies that weren't catching fish anywhere else at the same time. I would still keep a couple but the other 50-60 just got away on me. The pay per pound over in Thornfield started doing C & R though and that forced Rockbridge to start doing it as well. I think they call it Spring Valley Trout Ranch, nowadays. It was only 70 bucks a day then too. It's good fun, though and good practice for light tippets too! Here's Thornfield; Spring Valley Trout Ranch, Inc. Route 1, Box 115, Thornfield 65762 417-265-3699, svtrout@tri-lakes.net Haven't been there in years so don't know what's happening with 'em these days. There's a list of Missouri Private fishing areas here; http://www.infozine.com/news/stories/op/st...sView/sid/6250/
Gavin Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 My wife and I have stayed at Rockbridge on several occassions...Its a nice place.....Think its $95 for C&R fishing, but at those prices, its cheaper to fish for a couple meals worth of fish and quit..Lots of other stuff to do there...shoot, hike, do the Mill tour, eat, drink at the Mill Bar, or fish for smallmouth on the Bryant. The motel units are nothing special, but they are very clean...The steaks at the restaurant are good, and they have pretty decent wine list. Make a reservation if you intend to eat there. Cheers.
tippett7 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Called the resort and for $80 for 4 hours you can catch and release all you want. Or you can go to Dry Run Creek and catch way more fish for free.

Randall Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Or if you don't get caught. Cute animals taste better.
ozark trout fisher Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Or if you don't get caught. Considering how close it is to the hatchery, I would say your chances of getting away with it would be pretty slim.... Still an idea worth considering
