bigredbirdfan
I really enjoy this schtick. Frankly though, I'm disgusted. You didn't tell what kind of granola bars? What a bunch of BS. How am I supposed to know how that was going to affect his stamina when casting and reeling, or the smell of his or her breath which may or may not attract or detract fish. Pretty sure it was a massive oversight as Quaker Granola Bars are well known to produce breath potentially appealing to fish, whereas the Kashii ones just scare fish off. Pretty sorry excuse for detail if you ask me. Trolling For Walleye: I agree. How are we supposed to duplicate these exact conditions without the brand (and flavor for that matter) of granola bars? This could be the information I've been missing. Perhaps our frustration should be directed at the moderator? Must be his fault somehow. How about a few dozen PM's to solve this crisis? focused fishing
- Thanks Eric, that duct tape was very effective. Any suggestions on a painless removal? - After I got some sleep too, I feel a little better. Haven't figured it out yet....still applying more tape... The best thing may be to leave your head outside for a week or three and let mother nature do her thing to the tape. Sure seems to work for all the bumpers on cars in Arkansas..... This report is still glaringly incomplete. How am I supposed to re-create this non-fishing trip so I can see that fish jump without better information. What's the 1-800 complaint line for this message board. I want a double my money back guarantee. I didn't even ask. And I call myself a guide. Finding fish and helping people catch them isn't what it's about it's about the details; what was for breakfast, what did they drink, how high did the fish jump, etc...... Or maybe there is another way to handle this situation....... yea maybe these folks need something a little different...... yea that maybe the ticket... something that will help them to better understand.......yea maybe something like this: There, that should help get the point across..... powerdive
Geez, if people can't catch bass on THIS lake... Just tell 'em to go walleye fishing. That'll fix things once and for all.

Members 3inonegod
You guides are blowing what Bill stated. I am a weekend fisherman, and try to make it down to the rock 3-4 times a year. I look to this forum for guidance, however, I don't think that all the guides give accurate info all the time. I am not saying you don't, but it is counter productive to your livelihood to give the goods. I understand the resort thing also. If you all believe that the rock is so tough why don't you get more specific. 'Fished Baxter area, most fish are at 25 feet. Caught them with a pumkin brushhog texas rigged, use a 3/8 oz bullet weight with 10 pound fluro.' If the skill of the fisherman is the number one factor it would not hurt to give this much detail. You guys are blessed to have a job where your on the lake most days and you have a wealth of info to offer to us learning. Some questions I have always wondered but never seen on this forum. What specific brand, size and kind of line do you all use for each application. (cranking, drop shotting, carolining, etc....) If you were me with each season which area of the lake would you focus on the most. What would you use. Questions like this would really help. Anyway just wanted to give you a second point of view, Thanks for all you do
Members Fat Boy
Well I have tried to stay out of this one but here I go. I get on here about everyday to read wat the heck is going on and it is great reading at times. I love to read your reports Bill, Eric and whoever else post them on here, but you have to take them for what they are a report that was old the min they got off water u ned that much direction on fishing, that you can't take the info and go catch fish my god man sell your stuff and buy golf clubs. I caught good fish on a spoon on the dorps this past Sat up the James can I do it again, yes, can you go and do it I don't no but that is all the info anybody should need to start looking for spoon fish. You men who post KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK for you who can't take a report and go with it well that's fishing you won't catch them all the time. PS I have golf clubs for sale cheap
Champ188
Well folks, seems the right time to register my complaint. I got some info last fall from this site prior to fishing a derby on the Rock. Was actually able to locate and catch the reported fish both in practice and the derby. Was thinking, "Man, what a deal. Those OzarkAnglers.com guides really know their stuff!" Then just before time to call it quits on derby day and race back to the weigh-in, the unthinkable happened. While battling a 5-pounder at boatside, the ding-dong fish came off! Yup, the thing had only gotten the back hook of my crank bait in its mouth and just came unbuttoned. Cost me a fine check in the derby, too. Had the @^%$# guide bothered to MENTION that the fish were half-heartedly biting the baits instead of swallowing them, thus ensuring a solid hook-up, I'd have looked elsewhere for my own derby fish. As it was, I was left checkless — toeing the gravel at the weigh-in. But obviously, his only interest was self-promotion with no regard for the pain and suffering his incomplete information might cause to those consuming it here. P.S. Note to the whiners: Shut the heck up or take up Fat Boy's offer on the cheap golf sticks. The rest of us, and particularly Babler as he donates lots of time to moderate this forum, don't need you here. We're just darn grateful that the guides are willing to freely share their hard-earned info.
