techo Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I was reading today that they have figured out how to make meth in 2 liter pop bottles. They don't cook it, but shake it. It is called the one pot method. Believed to have originated in Michigan. Don't need to shake it as the lithium reacts with the water which provides the heat for the cook. Lots of trash all over the state. If you see a 2 liter pop bottle with what looks like grits or oatmeal in it....don't touch it. Okay seriously....someone ban me from the general forum...back to Table Rock! Tim Carpenter
hoglaw Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 You are indeed correct about the 2 liter bottle method of cooking. My wife is a felony prosecutor, and they're seeing quite a few of these. Nevertheless, it still requires substantial quantities of sudafed for anything other than personal use. The systems in place for tracking sudafed are doing a pretty good job of catching these folks. Meth cooking as we know it has become very difficult and most of the stuff on the street is now imported from mexico. Not sure about the huffing methane thing. I suppose there are people out there who will try anything, but that just seems crazy. Then again, most of the stuff these people put in their bodies is crazy to begin with.

What city is she based in? Takes three boxes of pseudo for a one pot cook. The law in Missouri helps make the cooks smaller and most of the meth does come in from Mexico, BUT in Missouri there isn't a uniform reporting database. In other words...you can go to Wal-mart in one area of town, then another, then Wal-Green's then Pricecutter, then another town and so on.... Don't even get me started on Sam's Club! The only way to track purchases is for an officer to go to each pharmacy and request the logs, then spend hours entering them into your own home made spreadsheet. Great law, but it needs to go into one database somewhere. Even if it did then we have the smurfing..... Tim Carpenter
hoglaw Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 We're in Fayetteville. Arkansas (I guess it's the whole state, may just be this area) has a database called "Leads on Labs." Whenever you purchase pseudofed, you get put on that list. If you make two or three purchases in short order, particularly at different stores, you get flagged. What happens after that is probably a little bit more secretive, but we do have a database that tracks purchases.
