Fish Bork Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Gonna mess around Sunday looking for some new spots to fish and wondering if anybody on this board did any fishing on this river? Thanks Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Flysmallie Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Are you planning above or below Pomme de Terre? I don't really have any information, just wondering. Always wanted to try it. I have been as far as you can go up the river from Pomme de Terre in a bass boat, far enough to totally destroy a $500.00 prop. Always caught lots of fish up there. Let us know how it goes.
fox_76 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 i do some fishing on it, but i fish it where it's still cosidered a creek, local name for it is "linn creek" and there are several access points around bolivar. different bridges and that sort of thing. usually fish it for cats, carp, and buffalo, but i have seen guys fly fishing it for bass, and some of them do quite well. if you need directions to some of these spots pm me. I didn't go to college,... I was too busy learning stuff. --Ted Nugent
SilverMallard Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I have heard tell that PDT below the lake is a GORGEOUS stretch of river for floating with almost nobody on it most of the time. I also hear it's pretty good smallie fishing. But these are just rumors. Anyone care to expound from personal experience? Wayne SW/MO Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 But these are just rumors. More like myths. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
SilverMallard Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 So how would y'all classify it for float fishing above the lake? A very experienced paddler buddy of mine says it is his favorite stretch of water in MO because it is so under-utilized and beautiful. fishinwrench Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I Wonder if the Muskies find homes in the river above the lake.
Flysmallie Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I Wonder if the Muskies find homes in the river above the lake. I've caught a couple about a mile up from Bolivar landing. I would bet that a few of them make it up there.
creek wader Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I'm always game for a new stream for smallies. If anybody happens to try upstream or down from the lake. Please give us a report. wader
