I have had several outdoorsmen tell me that if they wear pull-on rubber boots into chiggar infested areas they have nearly zero problems with them. Have not tried it yet myself.

I spray my clothes with Repel Permanone, let it dry and no problems. I also found a brand (Sawyer) and it works just as good. Havent had a tick or chigger bit will spring turkey hunting since I started to use it.
