I've got a 20 foot Basscat (old dawg-1986)

'86 Pantera?......darn good hull ! A little slippery on turns, but that's not always a bad thing (keeps you from getting thrown out).

All this talk about whites/hybrids has got me wanting to chase them again for a few trips.....thinkin' about taking the 7wt., and every pink fly I own, for a trip or two below Bagnell.

Yup, Pantera. You certainly know the characteristics of the hull. Spot on! ;) No complaints though, would love something newer/bigger, etc. But, that'll have to be down the road a few years.

You need to get out their and treat yourself with those whites/hybrids. Catching #'s like we were, and the pace we were; sure makes it tough to go back to catching blacks using soft plastics. :P

Here's a question, somewhat off track:

-

How late in the year is it worth fishing for whites/hybrids on LOZ?

-

The guys I've fished with only fish thru October, because hunting season starts in Illinois, where they've got property.

The Fall turnover will put the skids on it. And that normally begins within a few days (+/-) of the Daylight Savings Time switch, every year. So you've got a good month left before it goes to crap on the main lake.
