eric1978 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 What a beauty! An absolute pig. Be sure to tell your son for us that he's a good man for letting her go. Well done.
redbud Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I am not really sure but that might be a mean mouth, a cross between a smallie and a spot . some of the other guys on here would know for sure. Thanks for posting pics ,always enjoy seeing pics of hogs before they are released. great job landing a true lunker.
troutgnat Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Redbud, I really don't believe that to be a Meanmouth. It does not have the coloration and pattern of any meanmouth I have seen out of Table Rock. I just caught one last Sunday. Interestingly, now I am curious as to what the record is on a Meanmouth. I have never seen a Meanmouth larger than maybe a couple of pounds. I largest I have caught was right at 15". I believe it was caught out of Table Rock a couple of years back... ? Someone who knows for sure will let us know. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
denjac Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I dont think its a meanmouth, just too pretty of a fish. Meanmouths are all mottled up and in my opinion an ugly fish. Still fun to catch though. ... Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. eric1978 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I don't see any meanmouth. That fish is all smallie.

Trust me She was all pure Small mouth, Her color as you can see in the pictures, most noteably the one showing more of her bronze back shows uniform color scheme. It was one of the deepest goldest Brown ones I have ever seen. There wasnt a mark on her. Buescher_man
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I don't think there's a drop of Meanmouth in that fish, just a very nice typical Smallie coloration. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
chub minnow Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Looks like she swallowed a carp!! I'm so jealous. I would definitely be putting a replica of that one on the wall. Congrats!
Bill Babler Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Congrats, Congrats, Congrats. That my friend, is 100% Table Rock Small Jaw, PERIOD. That fish could and should be considered a fish of a lifetime here in SW Missouri. I could not be happier for you boys. Not only catching her, but seeing her head back for the bottom has got to be a thrill that will always be remembered. We so much appreciate your photo's of such a magnificent fish Table Rock Moderator, and all of the Administrative staff of Ozark Anglers. Much, much appreciated. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
