Went back out... did the same exact thing (scud from Andy's down)... and didn't get bit ONCE!

They did kick on more water - according to the chart 2 more feet. I had a tough time getting to the bottom with the same weight.

When I was out before, I could get a real good drag on the bottom.

ON THE BOTTOM - that's the key!

On the bottom was the key Saturday for the bigger fish on the scud. Had a tough time getting it there sometimes. Not because of the current. The smaller fish were hitting it on the fall before it reached the bottom. Nick didn't have the white jig completely on the bottom when he caught most of his fish including the 18" one. Let it sink to the bottom on the cast, and then reel in very slowly to swim the jig just off the bottom.

I wonder what this current rain willl do to the lake. Thankfully we arent getting the worst of it to our east. Cape G was supposed to get 6-8inches.

Kinda puts a damper on fishing. Wind and rain is the double whammy.

We'll see.

Look to the west... it's coming. I'm afraid this will but any hopes of low water to bed for weeks.

Hope I'm wrong.

Well it rained a ton.. again... my parents neigbors house flooded.. again. My mom said the railroad ties protecting the darned might have gotten messed up again.

Also water in the detached garage, again.

Some pics that will emerge in the morning from other areas will be shocking.

News crews have some of the damage.. but the water damage will be crazy bad.

Shane Bush, fisheries biologist for MDC, told me that the COE is planning on running 4 units plus 10 gates at Table Rock until TR's lake level reaches the 918 mark which could be Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Then they will return to normal generation which was a little less than 2 units 24/7, before the latest rain.

Fishing continues to be good but the guides stress the fly or bait has to be on the bottom to get bit.

The lake level is 917.8 and the tailwater is 708. Are the gates closed? What is the water temp below the dam?

Flood gates are closed. Water temp should be about 53 - that's what it was before the gates were turned back on.

Did they shut the gates or close down some turbines? The output wattage dropped from 180 down to 115 and the DO went way up.

Maybe they shut down some units before they closed the gates. The gates were only adding a little over a foot to the tailwater level anyway.
