Brian Wise Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 The long boat was different that a drift boat, but kinda the same. If an apple and orange can be "kinda the same" then I would agree with this statement. My Youtube Channel
Kyle Kosovich Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Thanks Phil for the great pics and the report. It was a great day on the North Fork for Sure! (No fish can resist the Marabou Jig style that Phil possesses.) Yes the drift boat and longboat are way different. The longboat handles between a drift boat and a canoe. I've ran the longboat on water from the size of bull creek to North Fork tail waters and the Gasconade. As long as you don't get it sideways you can travel any water that is over 2 inches deep and 34 inches wide. Kyle Kosovich Boat Builder/Guide http://www.LongboatOutfitters.com

Members Oldschoolcane Posted October 30, 2009 Members Posted October 30, 2009 Check out the flow data... it's somewhat high but "high" is a relative term. We drifted the river in a long boat, not a drift boat. Big difference. I'd think it would be floatable in a canoe almost anytime except during a low rainfall period which we are not in one. Just prior to your trip the water was incredibly high, lots of water for several days. Tim
