denjac Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Going fishing this Sunday. I'm taking the lady out and debating on whether to go to The Rock, or Stockton. Stockton's closer to where I live so I'm leaning towards that. Anyway, when she comes she's very happy with short fish, so I'm just hoping on getting bit, size doesn't matter. Any suggestions on where to go? And which ramp has the best bass fishing around it? I've only got a 9.9 hp so I'm limited to only a couple miles from the launch. Ya gotta start somewhere ya know? Thanks guys for any input! At stockton I would put in at Ruark bluff. They are fish inside that cove. Also go under the bridge and fish the first point on the left that has all the brush on it. Fish it around the bend 100 yards or so towards the second bridge. You can also troll that point in around 8 - 15 ft with a crankbait and pick up a few walleys. Hope that helps. I've always caught fish in that cove in the fall. You can also go left out of that cove and fish down that bank. Hard to remember exactly where but there are some nice rock ledges down there not to far from the ramp. Another good place to throw a spinnerbait in the fall.
MstStudent10 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Hey thanks for the info guys! Appreciate it! I dont know what it is but I just can't get her to catch fish... She was absolutely ecstatic about catching a 14 and a half inch kentucky this summer at Table Rock as the biggest fish she's caught in her life. I just dream of the day she catches just a 3 lb bass...She'll probably beg me to get it mounted for her! Set the hook first, ask questions later...
Whack'emGood Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 How is the water color? I have only been to PdT and TR and both were muddy. I was down at TR on Saturday... it isn't muddy anymore. It has cleared up lakewide... just slight color here and there. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
Members kcbear Posted November 16, 2009 Author Members Posted November 16, 2009 denjac.-- do you think the bass and whites will still be in the area you described above come this Thursday and Friday-- After some funky snowy weather in KC I might try to break south for a day or so. ( I think you mentioned some brushy points about midway down the sac around Mutton Creek).
MstStudent10 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Fished around the Twin Bridges area Sunday morning...through all the crumby weather and everything. The fish didn't seem to mind it. Threw a spinnerbait, white and chartreuse combinations around points, and cuts and small coves with brush on them. Caught tons of bass, mostly short fish. One really nice one that was nice enough to throw my bait before it got in the boat...whats new?!! Anyway all in all a good fun time. Set the hook first, ask questions later...

Didnt have a white hit either, but still lots of shorts with an occasional keeper . That was mixed in with my deer hunting. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo.
