Danoinark Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 As Spongbob says....I'm Ready!, I'm Ready, I'm Ready.... Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Flysmallie Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 As Spongbob says....I'm Ready!, I'm Ready, I'm Ready.... Oh my Dano, I can't believe you are quoting Spongebob! That's hilarious. Nice boat Zack, I'm jealous.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Looks to be more of a McKenzie style from the West Coast. I have a soft spot for drift boats and I've spent many hours in one, I wish they were useful on more waters here. I sold my glass one when I came back here, but I was tempted to bring it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Zack Hoyt Posted November 9, 2009 Author Posted November 9, 2009 Thanks guys. She feel svery light to row and extremely maneuverable. Wayne, I have taken drift boats down alot of our rivers. Definately not a year round thing, and very rain dependent. You do tend to get some odd looks rowing a drift boat down the Elk......lol. This one weighs about 175 unloaded. It doesnt set very low in the water and has a fiberglas/graphite and epoxy bottom. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I could defiantly see it on some of the rivers, but not on others. I would think it would really match up to the Eleven Point. I don't remember the weight on mine, but it was about in that range I believe. Mine had a 54" bottom, as opposed to the more common 48", and it didn't draw much water. Two of my friends had aluminum drifts and they came in around 150 if I remember right. You don't see many wood drift boats in the Northwest anymore, there are too many rivers with class 1V rapids and big boulders. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Is that a Greg Tatum kit boat ? Very nice. I'll row and you fish... :-) Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
