Members Engr5 Posted November 22, 2009 Members Posted November 22, 2009 Drove up to Baxter, put in around 8, white basscat, and point hoped toward KCity. Fishing was great from 8 until 10:30 with 6 keepers on wiggle wart including one 5 lb LM and one 3 lb SM. Also had 5 or 6 shorts and 2 keeper SM on football jig. Lost contact with the fish around 11:00 and looked deep, shallow and in betweeen (remember Buck Perry), Got 2 kentucy's suspended over 60 ft and 2 short SM on jigs about 30 ft deep from 11 until 3. Where did the fish go? Thank you.

motoman Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Nice fish and pic Engr, that pic sure makes me miss The Rock......(sigh)........
eric1978 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Awesome smallie. I could pack up after that fish and be a happy guy.
rps Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I didn't get free to go on the water until 10:00. Never did find quality fish like that handsome smallmouth. I did catch a steady progression of shorts until 3:00 when I had to come in. If 8 to 14 inch fish are your thing, try a green short worm on a 1/8 ounce jig head and scrub the bottom where flats drop into channels. It was a great day to be on the water.

Where did the fish go? Thank you. Hey Engr. We fished the same area, at the same time as you did on Saturday... with very similar results. I wish I knew the answer to your question. All I can say is... it is tough during the middle of the day right now. Great in the early morning, great in the evening, crappy in the middle. I have to agree with RPS (hey man, what's up?) though... great day to be out there! I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
