TSmith Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I attend college at SBU in Bolivar and Im looking for some good fishing spots. And directions would be VERY helpful. Bass Croppy preferably and if you really wana go the extra mile lures would be great to know since Im new to the area. I believe that fishing is usually better when there is a full moon. People are more crazy when there is a full moon. Thank God He made fish the way He did so I can have better fishing when people are crazier than normal.
Dutch Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Your closest place would be to go out Hwy D to where it intersects with PP. Take PP to the McCracken Bridge. There is a place to park where guys launch boats just below the bridge. There can be some good smallmouth, white bass, and crappie fisning in that area.

Dutch Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I haven't been there for over a week. The COE is drawing the lake down and some of the shoals are getting very shallow. Last time out I hit a couple of stumps so I think I'm done there for a while. I was using several types of plastics like slab hunters, tubes, and slider grubs. The other day I saw a guy pull in several lmb on spinnerbaits. The banks are mud on that side of the bridge so wear old clothes and boots.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Go to the Corp of Engineers site, Kansas City district, and pull up the map. It will give you a lot of access points. Stockton would be another, it has a lot of bank access at the town of Stockton. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
