Members mburk5 Posted December 10, 2009 Members Posted December 10, 2009 I was wandering when it says that the generation is 50 does that mean one unit?If so will I be able to wade,I'm kinda new to Tany. Thanks
Brian K. Shaffer Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Should mean 2 units running... usually, 50+ MW is 2 units.. Very wadeable... and quite good. Check my ' How to fish with 2 units ' article. Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Members gary2400 Posted December 11, 2009 Members Posted December 11, 2009 I keep up with the tailwater level more than units generating. I have found by calling the real time generation phone number a lot that the same tailwater level can be found with 1-2 units or 2-3 units, etc. After fishing at all different levels I've found my favorite spots no matter what the level so I just call and plan my spots according to tailwater. I always thought 1 unit was up to 60 flow? 230 capacity divided by 4 units = about 60 ea.? I have called and found they are running more units at less capacity and I have read on here that it is to put more oxygen in the water.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Cah somebody post a link to Brians 2 unit article? Thanks.

Brian K. Shaffer Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I may have goofed up.... 50 MW per unit is the norm for 1 unit. Max'd out at 55 MW the total load can be as high as 220 MW. On Thursday - they had a 50 MW load with 2 units running... Its difficult to know exactly what they are doing sometimes. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 12, 2009 Root Admin Posted December 12, 2009 You really have to pay attention to the lake level, not how many units they're running. It's like if you had 4 faucets on your sink... you might turn on all 4 faucets but only have them on half way. Or 2 faucets on 1/4 - that's what they are doing with 2 units at 50mw.
