Members tpierce Posted December 11, 2009 Members Posted December 11, 2009 This Saturday is the Table Rock Bassmasters last club tourny. It's been a great year with many quality sacks and fish weighed in. The fishing is actually very good right now. Last Sunday's Anglers in Action tourny had 35 boats entered and I believe there were 23 limits caught. I'll give some results after tomorrow's club tourny. Tuesday, Jan 5, 2010 will be the start of a new season. If anyone is interested in joining a BASS affiliated club feel free to contact me. There are several quality members in the club, 33 total, that would love to share some of their knowledge. We are a catch, measure, and release club. We don't fish for $, just points. This years club placed 4 members out of 12 on the Missouri Bass Federation State Team to fish the central divisionals in May. This is almost unheard of to have that many place so high considering there were approx 270 fisherman vying for those 12 coveted spots. If you're interested give a holler. If not, keep chuckin and a windin!! Merry Christmas!

Sam Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 We are a catch, measure, and release club. That's the way it oughta be, and I'd probably fish tourneys if they were like that. If I say I caught a 15 13/16" largemouth, then that's what it was and I'd have myself to live with if I stretched it by even 1/16th. Anyway, I could snap a picture of it laying on the ruler. Best of luck to you and your club.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 There is a lot of sense in that method. Large males are generally fewer and lighter, but measure out about the same as females of the same class. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
fishinwrench Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 We had a B.A.S.S. federated club going for 7-8 years that scored on paper like that on L.O., it started out with 30 some members but participation gradually petered out to less than 10. That was a bummer, cuz I always thought it was the best format ever for club tournaments, and for qualifying teams to the state championship. The only drawback we ever had was multiple ties for big Bass. So we ammended the rules so that each angler could bring in one fish over 3 lbs. to be weighed, and big bass was a side pot among those who chose to enter on the morning of the tournament.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 tpierce, wrench, did you measure all fish, or only over a set length? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members tpierce Posted December 13, 2009 Author Members Posted December 13, 2009 We measure and release all fish over 15" to the nearest quarter inch. The partner you draw measures your fish and vice versa. It is a great system and seems to have worked for years. The club has been around for over 30 years now so I don't think it will die anytime soon. In fact, years ago, the club did a three year study and was instrumental in proving to the DOC that Kentuckys grow larger than 15 inches and blocked the implementation of the 12 inch length limit in TRock. Not so on several other MO impoundments, such as Bull and LOZ. I must say I've learned alot these past few years from the old guard in the club. As for today's results...let's just say it all started by getting to my spot that was about a 10 minute run and coming off plane and hearing that knock, knock, knocking out from under my engine cowling. 2 blown engines in two years. My brother has blown two in a 6-8 month span. Unbelievable! On top of it, I have babied my motor since the rebuild. I know for a fact my brothers diagnosis was water infusion. Which means more than likely a local service station had water in their fuel. Stupid me I gassed up this morning at the same station. I'm not naming the station but I really believe there is something to the ethanol thing we're reading about. I ended up catching 8 keeps, 3 cranking, 5 on the jig. 3rd place heavy boat, 1st heavy sack... I think. My card was turned in while I was floating around waiting for my trailer to be brought around to me. Good thing my brother was in the area otherwise I might still be adrift!!!! Anyway, the day didn't end up like I had envisioned.
Bill P Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 It's a great club. Plenty to learn from those who know plenty. Looking forward to another year.
