Bman Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 We got on the water about 11 and fished untill 2. We experienced on and off misty rains, with the sun peeking out a few times. As we were getting our gear on in the parking lot, shortly before 11 suddenly we both just about jumped out of our waders!!! BOOM, BOOM!!! I mean big ones, not a Deer rifle either. All I could figure was we heard two sonic booms. I remember growing up in California during the '60s we heard sonic booms all the time as military jets headed out over the ocean. These sounded the same, only right on top of us! Anyone else down there Sat morn about 11:00 am? Oh ya, the fish. Here's a couple we managed pics of. Matt had a lunker on, the flies pulled out just before I could get a net around it. The only good line is a tight line
laker67 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Good report guys. The weather was off and on rain at loz as well. It makes for a tough day to spot fish.
patfish Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 NICE job Bman and his trusty side kick!!! Your son's fish was on a SJW and yours on a peach egg? There was some aircraft activity over my house as well at about 10am or so.... maybe from Scott AFB to Ft Wood?

Geoff Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I saw you guys there, never got around to making it over to introduce myself. you were catching them like mad...i on the other hand not so much. the boom i think was blasting, you could hear construction noise after they did that, plus where i was standing up in the front area the ground was shaking when it went off. ohmz138 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 You have good eyes my friend. Good eyes, but not what it bit on. That's my top fly you see. He hit the other fly.

ohmz138 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 DANG! I almost said, "or did he hit on the dropper?" I did get some on the san juan. I went through a variety of flies, all were working. Had a bad day with the trees though. Other than that they were slamming it all day.

Blasting would be more likely I would think. Although just after the blasts, I could have swore I heard the faint roar of jet engines. We drove in to the park through Cuba and didn't notice any construction going on. Is there any going on between the park and St James? I wonder what the park is planning stream side. You can't help but notice the survey flags. The only good line is a tight line
