Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 14, 2009 Root Admin Posted December 14, 2009 This gentleman got out before it went in. This morning at Cooper Creek Ramp. Ryan, my nephew and dockhand took the pic. I guess the boater backed the van back with his back hatch open so it filled up immediately when it hit the water. No other details at this time.
Members Midge Master Posted December 14, 2009 Members Posted December 14, 2009 Hmmmmmmm, I thought I set the parking brake.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 14, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted December 14, 2009 It is fairly steep but not overly... it's used more than most ramps too- year round. Could be percentages... who knows. I'm not saying this guy did anything wrong... could have been faulty brakes or something. He was alone I understand. There were people there to help. Ryan and Curtis ran over there when they heard about it. Ryan took the pic (my nephew and dockhand).
ohmz138 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I was unhooking my boat from the trailer one day and told my wife ( who I let back the trailer up, BIG MISTAKE) to pull it forward a tad. She forgot to take it out of reverse first ad hit the gas and put my Blazer darn near over my rear bumper in water. I was kind of in between the trailer and the car, I was up to my gut in water by the time she stopped. Guess who is never driving again as long as I'm around. lol
Bman Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 At least he remembered to put the plug in and the boat's ok. I was putting in my old boat in by myself once and pulled that stunt...pushing boat off the trailer, hey whats that water doing pumping out the side? isn't that the bilge pump? yikes! forgot the plug! The only good line is a tight line
denjac Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 That sucks ! Had a friend of mine lost a new silverado at Stockton. The truck floated for 15 minutes with the trailer attached to it. Almost made it out of ruark bluff cover before it sunk. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. trout fanatic Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I used to laugh my arse off at rookies who did stupid stuff like forget to put their drain plugs in etc. Then after, I dunno 20 years experience or so I launched my boat without putting in the freakin plug. Man that karma is a b####.
