Donna G Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I know this isn't a 'fishy' topic, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has expressed concern and encouragement this year since I had kidney cancer surgery last December. It was uplifting to read your notes to me and Champ188. I say this now to let you know I recently had check-up number two (go every six months). The doctor pronounced me still cancer free and the one kidney is rocking along pretty well. I can't wait for the upcoming tournament season. The timing of my cancer surgery was such that I didn't miss any events last year except the annual Beaver Polar Bear on New Year's. I was sad about that. Really. Forecast is a balmy 34 for this year's derby. E-ha! At any rate, I am blessed in more ways than I can count and I wanted to let you know that you guys are part of that reason. Happy New Year's. Wayne SW/MO Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 That's great! I know your pain and the comfort of a clean report. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
champ187xr6 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Great news Donna and best of luck to you and Champ this coming up year!
techo Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 You two are some of my favorite folks on here. I always look for your posts. Glad the checkup went well. The Mrs and I are following your lead and are fishing partners this year in AIA. She is way hotter than last years partner and there is no way she can end up in the trees as much! You two are a great example of true partners....so thank you! Tim Carpenter

motoman Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Great news Donna! Glad to hear it. I've had personal experience dealing with the cancer scare and surgery with my father; so this hits very close to home. - Like Tim, I too love reading you and Champs posts. Always enjoyable. I hope to catch up with a bunch of you all this year when I make it down and say howdy!
