Members KC Trout Fan Posted January 15, 2010 Members Posted January 15, 2010 Don, you would rather have your bait facing up instead of down or level. GF, basically I have my baits nose point up, not too much but just alittle, don't know why but it works unreal... I had taking a FLW tour guy out in the late winter and he showed me the trick of placing the sticky weight right in front of the last hook. He out fished me 5 to 1 his was weighted mine was not!!! Same bait!!! it just allows the tail to drop down and raise the nose up as it suspends. Just go buy some Storm stick on weights and give it try, you will like it.. Now I do it to all of my stickbaits, McSticks, Pointers and Megabass.. Good Fishing Don Don would the put the weight in front of the back hook and weight the front too? Psalm 16:8 I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Gone Fishing Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 KC Trout fan, I only weight the front or the back. The only way you should do both is if you like the way the bait sets, but are trying to either get the bait to suspend currectly or trying to give it a slow sinking affect.
Hogfan Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Does Bass Pro not carry the Mcsticks? I can't seem to find them on their website.
abkeenan Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 Hogfan- No BPS does not carry the Mcsticks for some odd reason. They do carry other Spro products like the little john crankbait, bronzeeye frog and the hard swimbait but not the Mcstick. I think their purchasing department needs to get on the ball and get them on the shelves. -Brett -By the way....Anyone use the Spro little john crankbait? Looks similar to a fat free shad....
motoman Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I agree, their purchasing department could use some help.

Maybe they just sell those in their stores??
rps Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 If you haven't tried them, Tackle Warehouse (tacklewarehouse.com) has proven very reliable, and they often carry the more difficult to find items. They also seem faster to stock emerging trends. As it happens they aren't showing McSticks right now, but they carry the rest of the Spro line and Megabass. LandBigFish is showing baits available at $11.49. I have also traded happily with them. Hope this helps.
Bill P Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Thanks for the info, I was looking for megabass baits and couldn't find them on their site either. Maybe they just sell those in their stores?? I'd say BPS doesn't carry McSticks because A-they can't provide enough at this time, or B-their BPS jerkbaits would never leave the shelves.
Members Bullcreek Posted January 16, 2010 Members Posted January 16, 2010 RPS Tacklewarehouse has the McSticks but for some reason they don't show up under Spro when you click on it. You have to type McStick in the search bar and they will come up. I have also had very good luck with them in the past. I buy most of my fishing stuff online nowadays versus buying at BPS. There are some very good deals out there if you know where to look. I was able to buy several new Falcon Cara T7 rods last week for a little over 20% off of retail plus the fact I didn't have to pay tax.
getfished Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 If you guys want to shop local you might try basswishes.com. This guy doesn't live very far from LOZ. He carries McSticks and Megabass also. http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
