duckydoty Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Fly tying classes will start Wed. January 20th at Lilley's Landing in the conference room or room #22. Fly tying will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with fishing to follow if you should choose to go, and of course, if the water is off. Bring your own vises and tools if you can. I will be tying some flies that should be productive during the shad kill. If you have some particular fly you would like to work on, just let me know. If you are interested and can make it, reply with an "I'm in!". I will bring some pizza too! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 15, 2010 Root Admin Posted January 15, 2010 I'm in. Jeremy Hunt is going to be tying on Tuesday nights here too so if you have something going Wednesday nights, we've got an alternate! He will post his class announcement shortly. We're also going to hold some classes on Saturday nights for guests here at the resort. Not sure when but we'll let you know. Of course it will be open to anyone.
Members Tangled Bill Posted January 15, 2010 Members Posted January 15, 2010 Hi all- my 1st post. I would be really interested in attending one (Tue or Wed) of these classes. I moved to Branson from L.A. Aug '09 and have since picked up a fly rod and fly-tying kit for the 1st time in my life. Been fishing with spinning outfits since I was old enough to hold a pole but never ventured into the fly arena. I have discovered that I freakin' love it! Even though I now realize I need more help in all aspects of it than what I can find using Mr. Google. My question: Tools I have... are tying materials available at Lilley's for what I don't have for these classes? Thanks all; looking forward to it. Bill

Bill I will bring all the materials for the flies we will tie in the classes that I hold. Lilley's Landing does have the fly shop that sells materials too. If you have a certain parttern that you would like to work on, then bring the materials for that. Looking forward to seeing you at some tying classes A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Jeremy Hunt Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Yep, I’ll be back tying at Lilley’s Landing starting this next Tuesday. I will also be furnishing materials for class and have a few extra vises for those who want to get started but don’t want to spend the money. I will be covering shad patterns as well. We all know this year will be a great year for the Shad Kill. You don’t want to miss out! We will also discuss how to fish these patterns after we tie them. I’m looking forward to seeing some old faces along with some new ones. See you there!! Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog

Flysmallie Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Wednesday is not the best day in the world for me but I will try to be there. I can be the one that shows how NOT to tie a fly!!!
zsmith62 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Not sure I will be able to make it this next week, but I'm assuming that this will be an ongoing thing? If so, I'll probably make it around there in the weeks following. These days I've been doing far more tying than fishing, and can always use a little more input/instruction/critism... Sounds fun.
