MaxDrown Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Increased the size of my photos, too. -- Max Drown
Geoff Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 WOW. Great photographs, congratulations. Very sharp and on a clean neutral background that accents the flies. What type camera were you using?Rolan hehe... Camera is a Canon 30D with a Canon 50mmF2.5 macro lens with a 550EX speedlite bounced off a white card with a white foam background. Oh yeah...i guess i forgot to mention im a camera junkie as well. Increased the size of my photos, too. i see that, they look very good, i like the middle colors in them, prolley will tie something up like that soon too. I got a HUGE pack of foam tonight from hobby lobby, for 4.50. has 25 colors, 50 sheets. i cant even see why i wouldnt use any of the colors in the pack. Geoff Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Its there, hiding under the wing. The big one, which i profile shot, has pearl, which didnt show up very well. When i went to make the second i was rumaging thru my stuff and found some brighter flash, so that went into the smaller one. You can see it in person, but my flash kinda burnt it out "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
MaxDrown Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Ooops, I see the flash now. Very nice. -- Max Drown
Arofishing Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Here are the hoppers I made using your pictures as a guide. The dark one was my first attempt, kind of bastardly looking. I'll be sure to give it to my novice friend to tear up .
Kayser Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Geoff- what size are those? WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Jason R. Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Cant beat foam for hopper patterns... I kinda tie all my dry flies with foam if I can- does that make me a cheater? http://flyinthesouth.com/
Flysmallie Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I kinda tie all my dry flies with foam if I can- does that make me a cheater? In my book it makes you smart. Nothing floats like foam.
Arofishing Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Tried them out yesterday and they held up pretty well too. My friend lost one of the wings, not a big surprise, as he has a penchant for getting caught in trees and then yanking as hard as he can until it comes out .
