Seagar fluorocarbon Red Label is hard to beat. I use it for Tippet

on everything. If you are using it for tippet make sure you use

a double surgeon knot if you are using a mono leader.

The biggest problem I've seen with any fluorocarbon is folks do not

wet their knots enough. I did hear that Seagar made most of the

fluorocarbon line. Did you ever notice all fluorocarbon is made in Japan

and no place else?

I use Berkley Vanish, just the regular stuff, not the coated or pro. I really can't see paying twice as much for "pro" line when I spool my spinning reels up with vanish in Februrary, leave them in my car, in the sun all summer, and never have any issue with the line breaking. I use the 4lb for tippets and 6 and 8lb for my spinning reels.

I'm a big fan of P-Line, and I like Floroclear. It and CX Premium have been my lines for the last decade or so and I have no complaints. I use bait casters primarily, but CX has worked well on my spinning rods.

I also really like the CX Premium. It has the best diameter to breaking strength ratio I have found and haven't any problems with it as far as twists or longevity. It is also pretty inexpensive, about the same price as a regular spool of Trilene. I also use vanish and like it as well.

Regarding tippet I like Seagaur or any brand other than Frog Hair. With the frog hair I would have to cut off and tie again after 4 fish or my line would break. No issues with other lines on knots breaking.

RIO for me.

I'm open to other options, I just can't stomach throwing $15 or more on a guess when I know RIO will work for me.

I wish Vanish or some other 'bulk' flouro for spinning setups would come out in 2 lb or something closer to 6x diameter. That might be a game changer for me if the quality was decent.

I've always used Seagar Carbon Pro and have had good luck.

Ditto's

For the fly rod I swear by Rio's tippett.

The only good line is a tight line

I like the Orvis brand of fluoro tippet the best. For some reason it seems to hold up a little better for me than the Rio and it's a little cheaper too.

Surprised noone has mention Bass Pro XPS Fluoro. KVD uses it, and it seems to be treating him well.

This is the Fluoro that I have found to be the best value. Not as expensive as Seguar (also good just spendy) I have tried many and will tell you that with fluoro you typically get what you pay for. I found that with Vanish.....that is exactly what the fish does.....the worst I have tried. As far as line memory (coils) use KVD Line and lure conditioner and your line memory will not be an issue. I have also tried with good results, Sufix and Parralellium both more expensive than BPS. Heve heard good reviews of the Trilene 100% and mixed reviews of Vicious.

I have started trying less expensive co polymer line (fluoro coated) PLine and so far it is treating me well. If I like it enough....I will stick with it due to cost.

Seaguar is my favorite at this time. Though it tests in the middle of the pack for stretch it is very soft and manageable compared to others. Bass Pro XPS rates pretty well as well. Tackletour.com did a fluorocarbon shootout among a number of lines back in 2007 which might be interesting to some of you. See the link below.

I mostly use the P-Line fluorocarbon coated line either the Floroclear (daytime) or CX Premium (nighttime) and a good line conditioner like Blakemore Reel Magic. I have tried most of the other lines mentioned. Regular Vanish seems to wear out too soon. Vanish Transition does seem to last longer and be more abrasion resistant. Searguard Invis didn't last nearly as long as the "sticker shock" at the price. I use Cabelas Fluorocarbon Pro in 10# to tie my walleye spinner rigs and it's really tough to break off so I like it for that, but it's pretty stiff for casting.
