Buzz Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I will be there on Sunday. I'm bringing a small gas grill and some hot dogs or brats or something along that line. Feel free to stop by and get some grub around lunch time. [/quote) Looks like I'll be coming down by myself this go round. I'll look you up ducky. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Chief Grey Bear Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Well, not so fast. If you have a empty seat, I'll take it. But, I'll need to be back by 4:00. vanven Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I fished Friday and Saturday. it was cold and the fish were not super cooperative but all in all a good time. Bright egg patterns in the deeper holes without an indicator worked well. At this point these C&R fish have seen just about everything. Not a lot of luck on midges, scuds, buggers, pheasant tails. -Jerod
Buzz Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Yeah, the fish weren't overly cooperative for us either, although we did catch fish. Red Zebra midges caught a few for me early. Afternoon I managed 4 more on craclebacks in the C&R zone. Nothing big, but still a pretty good day. We met up with duckydoty and he cooked brats for lunch. Thanks Ducky. We also met Hopper and Wounded One. Nice meeting you all. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
duckydoty Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Yep, nice seeing ya'll down there. I caught some fish too. Only one lunker to hand though. Peach eggs, olive sowbugs and cased caddis worked real good for me on the smaller fish. The bigger ones really liked the rabbit hair leaches made with dubbing loops rather than palmering rabbit strips. They stole every one that I had made. "Chucking n Ducking" worked really well for me down there. Got the flies down fast. My hook set was a little strong for that 12 foot rod though. Lost several nice ones on the hook set yesterday.
