Members mcbass Posted February 13, 2010 Members Posted February 13, 2010 Anybody been to the Lake. What kind of water temps are we looking at now? Hope the ice is all gone and it warms up soon.
Dutch Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 My wife was down that way this week and said the coves were frozen in.
fishinwrench Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 There's still some ice but it's busting up pretty good. They've been sucking her down hard and fast over the last few days, lake level is around 654 and still falling. Once we get a few days of sunshine the jerkbait bite should start getting good.

Why is it that the internet site for lake level and temp of Lake of the Ozarks always is so inaccurate? This is very frustrating. They(whomever they are) have posted the same level for entire month of Feb. at 657.8. Is the water temp still about 35?
fishinwrench Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Not sure what site you're using to get the info. The number for the recording at Bagnell dam is 573-365-9205 Todays level was 655.19 and falling, and surface temp at the dam is 35-37*
Members Jackie D Posted February 19, 2010 Members Posted February 19, 2010 Was on it today. Put in at PB2 and broke ice for 1/2 mile and it was frozen as far as we could see toward the main lake, some of it is 1/2 inch thick. We finally turned around and loaded up. . Decided to try Shawee Bend and as we drove around toward toll bridge and passed over the 54 bridge it was froze as far as you could see both ways. As we got closer to toll bridge we could see the lake from atop the hill going toward the bridge and it was froze as far as we could see both ways by the toll bridge. Turned around and decided to go to Stockton but on the way we went back over the niagua and it was open so we tried the Larry Gale access and it was open. We went toward the little Niagua and it was frozen over completely at the mouth as far as you could see going into the little Niagua. Several big patches of ice at the mouth of little biagua so I'm not sure if you could go further toward main lake or not. Water temp was 36 in the morning to 38 in the afternoon. One bite, a drum. Should have went to Table Rock. Jackie Davis Davis Brothers Guide Service Visit my site @ http://BassProFishingGuide.Com

Members mcbass Posted February 19, 2010 Author Members Posted February 19, 2010 Thanks for the info. Wonder if the Heartland will be able to fish next weekend with all the ice? Looks like colder weather will move in again at the end of the week.
