Im looking to take my groomsmen on a striper trip, who would be the best guide for us? when would be the best time to go ? i wanted to wait until it got a little warmer but, we also want to catch fish.....

Jr. Adams, if he's still alive. Fished with him in the early 80's, he knows what stripers are doing 24/7..

I was born at night, but not last night.

Odds are with the prepared...

Jr. Adams fishes out of Lost Bridge North... If you want to fish the damm end of the lake, he is your man... But, I would call him and let him pick the date ( if you are flexible ).....

i think the topwater is best in May...the fish are probably up the river now...which is also good.

i'd say best time is winter and spring for stripers.

i've fished with 3 different guides...Chapko, Andreason, and joe fargas.

i think Chapko will work harder for the fish than any of the three...good guy and good equipment. prairie creek area

Andreason knows what he's doing, but equipment (rods/reels) are junk...and he is a little gruff.

Fargas is a nice guy...with good equipment. fishes the dam area.

Cant say Im the best, but I Do try as hard as any, with 8 good bait rods, 2 umbrella rods, & casting rods. If party is more than 4 I use eathier Johnny Glantze ( www.big1sstriperguide.com ) or Gean Chapman (www.beaverguideservice.com ) as 2nd boat. Fishing out of Praire Creek or Hickory until end of april. Than the dam or Praire pretty wll puts us on fish spring thru summer. If you get a big one I can even mount it for you at a discount. 2007 graduate of Colorado Instatute of Taxidermy. Im out of Holiday Island & when on Beaver have just fished Stripers since 94. I also do a lower rate trip for Walley,Whites, Crappie, & Trout up the Beaver Tail Waters out of Holiday Island. The wallye are moving up river now for a good March & April spawn. www.fishofexcellence.com )

My name is Robert & wish you a good day on the water whoever you choose. All the guides listed by others above are also very good with a lot of years behind them.
