KCRIVERRAT Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 My awesome wife served me up a heck of a sweetheart supper tonight. Walleye and breaded shrimp with homemade mac and cheese. Also had a great garden salad (Ott's poppyseed dressing of course) along with garlic texas toast. Just wondering how everyone else fared on getting their bellies filled? Now I'm ready for some... rps Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Home made pizza. Dough from scratch, chicken, arugula, mushroom, black olive artichoke, fresh tomato, five cheese. :-)
trout fanatic Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I scored: Steak, shrimp scampi, rice and asparagus! The wife just got a dozen roses. I believe we both think we came out ahead-so that makes it a sweetheart of a deal.

Chief Grey Bear Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I smoked two chickens and made chicken enchiladas out of one of them. And some home made spanish rice. Delish! The other one we will eat this evening with some greenbean casserole, ranch style mashed taters, and some home made mac n cheese w/bacon. snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I fried some Cajun catfish in the garage on my dual fuel stove while it snowed. She made a salad and risotto. SIO3
Gavin Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Sounds like yall ate well..She got a new dishwasher, & I cooked pan fried chicken, green beens sauteed in walnut oil, with shallots & black pepper, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes.
Chief Grey Bear Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 green beens sauteed in walnut oil, with shallots & black pepper, WOW! Does one want to use that walnut oil sparingly? I would venture to say that a little would go a long way??? Paola Cat Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 We heated up some Opeilio crab legs (fresh from Deadliest Catch fleet and on sale at the local market ) and the wife made some shrimp Clemenceau to go along with it. The kids came over and we had a feast. I got totally stuffed .... It was hard to breathe for awhile ). I ended up dozing off while the Daytona 500 was on. PC Cheers. PC
Gavin Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Its not that strong, but it adds a nutty flavor...Guess I use a tablespoon or two for a 12" skillet full of fresh green beans...You dont want them too oily, and you want the beens and shallots to carmelize a bit. Toasted walnuts make a good garnish. Cheers.
