Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 21, 2010 Root Admin Posted February 21, 2010 I have a series of old images and an audio file of a couple of guys describing what's in the photos. I want to create a program with the audio and images running at the same time. Make sense? I tried powerpoint- way too much work and the file would be huge. It's 2 hours, 45 minutes of audio and 248 images. Garageband - Podcast. The images are all cropped too small... great otherwise. I completed the whole project only to scrap it. Suggestions? Thanks
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 21, 2010 Author Root Admin Posted February 21, 2010 http://ozarkanglers.com/podcast/branson-photos This is what I did in GarageBand. If you have a couple of hours, it's really interesting. Just wish you could see the images in their entirety.
jdmidwest Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Faststone image viewer lets you create a slide show and add music to play while the show runs. You just select the pics, select the music, in your case the narrative, tweak how you want the show and you are done. I don't know if the narrative would be in time with the pics though. You could probably do something with Microsoft Movie Maker also. The trick would be the timing with the narrative. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 21, 2010 Author Root Admin Posted February 21, 2010 Forgot to say- I need it for a Mac.
Flysmallie Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I use MAGIX Movie Edit Pro for the PC. Mac has iMovie that looks like a very nice program. Both of them the same type thing. You can add the audio file and then add the pics and adjust their length to match the audio. You can also some really interesting transitions between pics or video clips. It takes a little to get used to but you can create some really neat stuff. Here is a video that I did for the Willard JV & Varsity volleyball team.

ACDSee has a Mac version and works with images and movies. It supports several formats and works the same way. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 22, 2010 Author Root Admin Posted February 22, 2010 Did it in imovie. Took a while but it's 140 minutes of audio and 248 pics. I'll format it and use something else to add chapters I think. It going to be a huge file but the project itself is going to be special. Mark and Joe are natives- it's priceless to hear them describe the old photos.

Just wondered how user friendly that it is.
Members Mo Mac Man Posted February 22, 2010 Members Posted February 22, 2010 iPhoto would make a simple slide show as well. Probably better suited for a music bed than narration.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 22, 2010 Author Root Admin Posted February 22, 2010 Got it done in imovie but have to upgrade to 09 to add chapter markers.
