Ham Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I could use a little help with the term "fall off". Is that the more gradual slope on the inside of the channel swing? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

focused fishing Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I could use a little help with the term "fall off". Is that the more gradual slope on the inside of the channel swing? Ham, When I use the term "fall off" I am generally taking about a more sever slope, like a drop or ledge. I guess it depends on how it is used: ....a flat secondary point that "falls off" on one side..... would mean it is steeper on one side. ....fish are holding on points that "fall off" gradually into the channel..... would mean a gradual slope It's all in the context Clear as mud for sure now... steveearle Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Ditto on the foul-hooking issue (can't keep while sight fishing), but keep an eye out for this...State laws/regulations trump tourney rules and remember that California state regs say that any fish hooked outside the mouth must be returned to the water...Remember Steve Kennedy throwing back fish up to 9+ pounds on Clear Lake that were just BARELY outside the mouth the last time the Elite Series was there. It will be interesting to see if it happens again next month....
