Sore Thumbs Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Anyone know what the water temp. is at LOZ? I am hoping to fish in Central Pro-Am team tourney on March 7th. Is there still ice?
Members freelancer 11 Posted February 23, 2010 Members Posted February 23, 2010 heard 36-38 with alot of the coves frozen over.
getfished Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks. Any fish being caught? I fished Shawnee Bend Wednesday last week. Water temp was 34.8 -35.3 and had a fairly heavy stain. The lake was lowered by several feet. On Thursday I put in at PB2 and had to break ice to get into the Grand Glaize. It was too thickly frozen all day to get onto the main lake so we just stayed in the Grand Glaize. The water was slightly warmer at 35.5- 37.1 but dingier. We didn't see many shad, dead or alive in the Shawnee Bend area but we saw plenty in the Grand Glaize. We fished jerkbaits, jigs, tubes, spoons, and dropshots and still went home Thursday night with a skunk. Most activity we saw on the electronics was between 20-30 ft. The air temps were 19 in the morning and peaked at about 35 on Wednesday and 40? on Thursday. I would probably look for some cleaner water between the Gravois and the dam, or maybe in the Niangua. Hope this helps, good luck. GETFISHED !!! http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
Champ188 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks for the post getfished. Donna and I are headed up there Friday night for the weekend, then going back Tuesday night and be there Wed-Sun for the pro-am. Sounds really tough. Definitely going to start our search around the Gravois and work toward the dam.

Champ188 if you are refering to the Heartland Pro-Am it has been canceled due to Ralph having an illness he suffered coming back from the Bassmasters Classic. I had talked with them and they are going to try to rescheduled here quickly and if that can't be done then they will add a tournament in Aug. or Sept. I will try to keep everyone posted on what I hear from Heartland. Keep Ralph and Bonnie in your prayers as Ralph recovers.
Champ188 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Adaniels, thanx for the heads-up on Heartland but I was talking about Central Pro-Am next weekend, March 6-7. Will be there this weekend for a practice run then going back Tuesday night for the rest of the week.
Members Hector Boirie Posted February 28, 2010 Members Posted February 28, 2010 Fished grav. this am for about 5 hours. Water temp around 37-38. Majority of coves still have a thin layer of ice. Worked several jerkbaits...skunked. Talked to a couple of other guys out, same results.
motoman Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 This is second hand info, but rock solid. A buddy of mine went last weekend, found 38 degrees around PB2. Hit some crappie spots and zeroed. - Ran several miles up the Glaize and found 48 degree water in the shallows. Knocked the pooh outta the crappie up there on some of his spots. - Anyone else telling me this info, and I would be very skeptical. But, I've fished several times with this guy; and if he says it;' it's the truth.
