We have started a Chapter of the Missouri Smallmouth Alliance here in the Southwestern part of the state. We are looking for members that love to fish Smallmouths on area rivers and streams and would like to promote better Smallmouth Fishing through Conservation and stream improvements. If any of you are interested give me a heads up and we will see about getting you signed up. Send me an e-mail at glange@cebridge.net. Take a look at the MSA website and get an idea of what we are all about.

There are a lot of smallies on the lower end of Crane.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

You had to post this on a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream's subforum? Honestly? This is almost forum spamming.

No, Flysmallie, if we did it, someone would ride us for SPAMMING. This same thing is posted 8+ times on the board, and that is just stupid. Can we post it in ONE place and be done with it. Crane is not managed as a smallmouth fishery, but as a WILD trout fishery. People don't fish Crane thinking they are going to catch smallmouth, but rather to catch rainbow trout.

I counted 13 times. How about we start a trout alliance on the big piney.

Just because there are those fish present, does not necessitate intervention. I have Asian Carp on my local river...should I make a Bighead carp alliance?

13x, same post, a little excessive? YES.

13 separate posts is very excessive. I agree with you guys on that. But there is no reason to jump all over a guy that is trying to do something. No one had to bring up spamming, that's just stupid and you know it.

That's been the problem around here lately. No matter what you do someone has to bitch about it.

So Gary, you retard, don't you know that 13 posts is too much. We consider it as spam and you are now a spammer. I'm also putting you on my no call list so don't be calling me late at night trying to sell this MSA garbage. Some of our members are so inconvenienced by your excessive posting that we may have to ban you from the system if your behavior doesn't improve. And for your punishment we will be administering a really good dutch rub.

Wow, up until this point I couldn't find a really good reason to join the MSA. But I have been inspired. Gary, sign me up and let me know what I can do to help ALL of the smallies, no matter where they live.

Here lately this forum reads more like a field and stream magazine. 2 pages on a fishing story and 59 pages on advertising. People used to talk about fishing, now they want to know where to buy thingamabobbers and solo canoes. Kudos to the guys posting fishing reports and leaving the other bs at home. The problem, as you stated, is self inflicted in most cases.
