snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hey everyone Does anyone have a map of the access points and directions from Mountain Home? Thanks, SIO3
Brian Sloss Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Take 412 east from mtn Home to Salem. Take a left on hwy 9 and follow to Mammoth Spring and you are there. At the intersection of Hwy 9 and 63 in Mammoth is the Spring River fly shop, you can see the river from there. Mark will probably have maps and can give tips as to where the best fishing is that day and what to use. If he doesn't have river maps, the tourist center across the street does. His web site is www.springriverflyshop.com. Hope this helps. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Thanks Brian, that's what I'll do if we head over there on a side trip. What access do you like? SIO3
jdmidwest Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Access is in town, Lasseters across from the motel in town, Cold Springs (boat only), Dam 3, Bayou, Riverside, Many Islands, Spring River Oaks. The last 3 are private and require a daily fee to access. Best wading is at Lasseters or Bayou. Dam 3 is good too. Here is a Trails.com map with Topo detail. Terry Beeson Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Snaggy, Click here for another map... Concentrate on Lassiter's, Dam 3, and Bayou accesses. Riverside is just around the corner from Bayou, so you can wade down to it. Depending on when you go, Many Islands et al can be crowded with campers. If you go during the canoe hatch season, hit Bayou in the morning until the first canoe hatch then move upstream to Lassiter then down to Dam 3 after the last canoe launch. Riverbend Restaurant for lunch and Fred's Fish House for dinner and your day is complete... (BTW... If Lacee is your waitress at Riverbend, leave a big tip... My grandbaby - her little girl - can use it... LOL) TIGHT LINES, YA'LL "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Thanks Terry, I was hoping you would chime in. We're leaving St Lou today at noon so we might hit The Spring Friday. I've always wanted to go there and this might be the trip. I love Fred's, but we cook out on an open fire all week. Note to self, Lacee at Riverbend. Steaks, ceasar salad and baked potato tonight!! Fish fry with hush puppy's the other nights!! Snagged
