duckydoty Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 The water was off at Lake Taneycomo today and My MonaChari and I got some great midge fishing in. My MonaChari landed 25 + fish. I have no idea how many I landed, but it was quite a few. Size 20 black midges with a brown bead and copper wire worked best about 12 inches under a dry fly. Indicators would spook them. ... There were a few people down there taking advantage of the water being off. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
TroutRinger Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Thanks for the report. I'm hopefully going down on Friday. Is it always that crowded on a weekday? I was there last Thursday and there wasn't nearly that many people. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." TroutRinger Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 That's probably it. I was there on my spring break last week. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."

DD'sMC Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Does this mean that you got outfished again? Thanks for the pics and the report. After he counted on all his fingers, toes, his two eyes, two ears, then his nose, and a couple other things, he couldn't keep track, he had nothing else to count . Honestly, he outfished me by two to my one all day long. It was great to get out there today. Thanks SWPA for finally shuttin the water off!!! And thanks for the info on the plaque.
Buzz Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Great report and good info. I really want to get back down there. I've learned so much since the last time. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
TroutRinger Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 How difficult is it to fish with a dropper fly and not get all kinds of birds nests. I am just getting back into fly fishing after a 4 or 5 year lapse (not that I was ever great in the first place). "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy."
