Where are the TeaTables & Hootn Town? I haven't lived here long enough to learn all of the nicknames!

Hootentown is above Galena on the James River.

"Fish are clear above Hootn Town now back in white bass mode... went this evening at TeaTables and caught 13 studs and a 24" walleye."

Yeah, that's got me confused. I know your spoonbills are coming out of James, but the Tea Tables are on Beaver Creek. At which place are you saying you caught those white bass?

I'm heading over to Beaver tomorrow am - get there at daylight and see if I can hook some on my fly rod. Putting in at 160 bridge.

I need to an assessment of the water level on Beaver at the different lake elevations... Say if the level is at 654, the lake is backed up to _________. And if it's at 660, it's backed up to ___________. That'd be good information.

At 654 I wouldn't even try to get to the Shoot in my boat. At 660 I think I could make the rock hole if I were careful down by the whistles.

Gentlemen please explain what you refer to on these obstacles for those of us who will be fishing up in there for the second time.

If you are not familiar with the area I am afraid that you won't be able to tell much from my description. In Beaver Creek most everything has some local name. One of the most notable is the Maiden hole. If you know it, then up stream is a long stretch where people bank fish and it is called Slough Hollow. At the upper end of that the creek bends hard left at the Whistles. Just before that hard bend there are lots of big rocks in the water and it is easy to whack one of them. Around that left hand corner and through the next hole it turns back to the right and goes into the Shoot which is a shallow shoal. Above the shoot there is a Big Rock on the left and that is called the Rock hole.

I fish from a big old glitter sled and it can't get up there unless there is a lot of water. So I rarely fish above the Maiden Hole in my rig.

water is over the road at tin whistles this morning. Not enough you cant drive through with a four x four truck but your moms taurus aint gonna make it.Saw three boats up past the whistles but it looks like back water but still has good current there.Ended up playing in the water below powersite dam with a few walleye caught. No keepers, but sure suprised me when I was expecting a crappie or two.Did lose a nice walleye, I need to quit trying to finese those fish with my crappie pole

Thank you tremendously
