Dutch Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Don't feel bad DUTCH. I had a guy anchor 5feet from my boat last Sunday. I asked him real politely did he have a question he wanted to ask me or did he just not see me. I was not even wearing camouflage and my flat bottom boat is old wore out green with a blue and white envinrude. He said he liked the spot that I was anchored on, that it was the best spot. What do you do? We really need to get my stupid dart thing implemented. Two of those boats yesterday dropped anchors as well.
bigredbirdfan Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 He is my saturday report. The fishing in both Swan and Beaver was awful. The rain completely fouled it up. Would like to know if it improved sunday?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 5, 2010 Root Admin Posted April 5, 2010 Not that anyone should EVER do this but... it would be funny. Buy a paint ball gun and take different color ball outs with you on the lake/creek. If a guy does that- anchor or cut you off, hit his boat with a ball. Blue means he was 15 feet from you, yellow 10 feet and save the red ones for 5 feet. Then when you see a boat headed towards you with a red spot on the side of his boat, you can warn him ahead of time... don't come near me, I'm armed!

I don't know if that is a real good idea with some of the nut jobs that have conceal carry permits. You might shoot paint balls and in return get some holes shot in your boat.
Sam Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 We stayed at a campground and marina in Oregon once where there was a narrow channel with a 5 mph speed limit posted. The owner had a big slingshot rigged up between two trees, and he'd lob water balloons at boats tearing through there at full speed. I fired a few water balloons with it (not at boats) and that was fun - they'd go about 100 yards. Like you say, though, in this day and age you'd probably get return fire for doing that.
Dutch Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I don't worry about the concealed carry thing. I just carry.
Members Jeff Burkhart Posted April 7, 2010 Author Members Posted April 7, 2010 I got in a fight with a guy from Oregon below Table Rock Dam when I was 17yrs old because about five of us was doing the Taneycomo Shuffle and catching trout from our feets on our fly rods..He mouthed off... I mouthed off. He popped me in the mouth and I took him down and proceeded to drown him... Thank god my buds pulled me off of him but man was Como cold in Feb
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 7, 2010 Root Admin Posted April 7, 2010 Note to self: Don't mess with Burkhart.
Fly_Guy Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 They say imitation is the highest form of praise - unless it involves someone in your fishin hole. I had fun today - was catching whites on a chartreuse curly tail, and 4 kids came right up close to me, switched to chartreuse curly tails, and started casting right where I was. I just had to chuckle - it's a big river and I moved, but as I passed them later, one told me of the fish they had caught after they moved to the spot I vacated I guess I should feel complemented?...
bigredbirdfan Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Note to self: Don't mess with Burkhart. lol or at least don't question his techniques
