abkeenan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Anyone use a Buckeye Wake Up? The are a bit pricy at $18 bucks but it seems like Bill B and others here say have buy 10 redfins to get one good one out of that bunch. So it might make sense to just pay the $18 if you know that they work right out of the box. They seem to be just about the same thing as a redfin only they are balsa which is nice and they also come with better quality hooks. Any thoughts guys? -Brett

Any thoughts guys? -Brett They are supposed to be the best thing out there. U don't have to do anything but reel it in. Word is they are better than a redfin or Bomber Long A. They make several colors but I here bone is the best. They have them at Hook,Line and Sinker in Rogers. They are selling like crazy. I only saw two left in the bone color.
Gone Fishing Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 They are extremely easy to wake. They run true out of the box. The eye on the front of the bait can be mangled when you catch a fish but it is easy to move back. You can adjust the eye to make the bait wake extremely slow also. Great bait and perfect for women and children also.
SRV1990 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I found a few places online (their own website, Tacklewarehouse, Bass Tackle Depot) to buy them, but is there a retail outlet where they can be purchased? Thanks, Tom "You can always justify putting off a decision... but you can't put off the results of indecision."
Bill Babler Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I have several of those "Buckeye Wakers". They are on my bait shop wall. I think however they will work for the most of you. WAY, WAY, TO WIDE A WOBBLE. Brian Snowden, did however catch a 9 pounder on one last year, after I showed it to him. They will work, but not even in the Park with others I have used. I am still very high on the Spro BZ 1. Try it and you will like it. Works great the the Gama. Hook right out of the box. Looks identical to a gizzard Shad on the surface. Troube is all these bait cost a Friggin fortune. It is just obserd the price of the wakers and the sticks. Really has anyone found a better bait than a spook, for 6 bucks? Yes the Fins are my favorite, but after the tuning and the Maybe's, you got a ten spot in them with no guarantee they will even work. Wakers, still a work in progress. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
