Members WAVINGSWAN Posted April 28, 2010 Members Posted April 28, 2010 I plan on fishing Scooner Creek, White Branch and West Fisher Creek areas this Saturday, anyone with info on those areas. I would really love any fishing info on those areas. Thanks!
motoman Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 We were down a bit over a week ago with some other friends in different boats. We had a rough go of it in Schooner; not sure I would recommend wasting much time there. We frothed the water with everything but the kitchen sink. - But, some buddy's of ours cleaned up over in Fisher Creek. They caught lots of fish, slow rolling the grub on pea gravel banks, just outside the moss, parallel to shore. A lot of small fish, but keepers mixed in; all species. - Heck, the way things change down there, this could all just be a history lesson. - I try and check the boards here for reports, minutes before heading out the door to The Rock. Even better, if I remember to bring my laptop, I check reports while I'm down there for realtime info.
fozzype Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 The Moss is somewhat broken up in Schooner Creek, but didn't connect with much up there on Sunday. Didn't have my head together sunday either. Just one basic theme: MOSS, MOSS, MOSS,MOSS SUCKS, I HATE MOSS, MOSS BLOWS, MOSS, MOSS, MOSS !!!!!!!! B. Foz
gitnby Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I live right where Fisher Creek hits the main channel and I fish the areas you mentioned quite often. I would start with a redfin at first light. Try it in the first cove on the left in White's branch (just past Gobbler Mountain resort) Have caught several big K's and some nice SMJ in 20-40' over the trees that run out from the gravel point in the center of cove. Also try up shallow on the left side of the gravel point with the "usual suspects" -Fish doctor/Grub/shaky head I would work a Fish Doctor and or grub on the pea gravel on either side of Pt 7, and on either side of the mouth of Schooner. Back in Schooner, all of the secondary points with gravel are usually good Fisher has also been getting a lot of pressure, especially in the backs of both branches. Try shaky head/fish doctor on the 'nothing-looking' banks with mixture of pea gravel and chunk. I love the bubble gum floating worm in the spawning areas in Fisher, too! White, weightless fluke on a #5 Gamakatsu is working well for me on deep end of shaded docks or just inside the stalls in 12-20'. Could go on, but this should give you a start.
