Members BigMinnow Posted May 7, 2010 Members Posted May 7, 2010 I went fishing in a stream on a buddies property, because I seen fish swimming but I have no clue what they are. Maybe some of you smarter guys can help me out. The little creek is just crammed full of these fish plus a bluegill here and there. They are fun little fish to catch and easy at that, so I'm going to take the kid down there this weekend to have some fun. There are two diffrent kinds of fish I have been catching. Please help me out.

Members BigMinnow Posted May 7, 2010 Author Members Posted May 7, 2010 Thanks for the link lots of cool info, I now might have to catch a few and see how they do on the trout line.
Al Agnew Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Actually, I believe the one on the left is a hornyhead chub, not a creek chub, though it's a little hard to tell from the photo. The mouth of a creek chub is terminal...the upper and lower lips stick out about the same. Hornyhead chubs have mouths that are slightly underslung...upper lip sticks out more than the lower lip. Both get big enough and are aggressive enough to hit small lures.
