techo
We are planning our annual float trip. I can't remember who we rented out canoes from. We always stay at Tyler's Bend as some folks have kids and like the ranger talk. women like the showers and so on. I tried to do a search as I ask the same questions every year. Any recomendations on canoe rental? This year I plan on fishing...any recomendations on lures for a spinning reel. Thanks again! bobber
pull out of the camp ground entrance, turn right 100 ft. ....silver hills canoe rentals.I don't fish that section much but a crawdad pattern always works for me <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
darbwa
Bobber gives good advice. I used silver hill canoes last year and they were very helpful. We put in at the Margaret White section of the river and it was a great 2-day trip. We caught 46 smallies, mostly on crawdad crankbaits and soft plastic craws. We caught some of the larger fish on top waters (specifically the rebel pop-r).
Gavin
All kinds of stuff should work...I usually start with a topwater...Buzzbait, Sammy, or Spook Jr. and if they wont eat that I try a 5.25" Zoom fluke in white or a more natural shade if I'm getting hits but no hookups. No hits on that, I go deep with an Eakins Jig & Chunk, 4" Chomper, or a 4" Curly Tail Grub. Make sure you switch back to topwater occassionally, because they will eat on top sometime during the day. I'd bring at least two outfits, a 5.5' casting rig in for the topwaters, buzzers, and spinnerbaits and a 6' medium spin rod with braid and a fluorocarbon leader for the rest. Cheers. techo
Thanks. I think you tell me the same place every year. I couldn't remember if it was the first place on the right or the second. Thanks again this year! Tim Carpenter
