wily Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 the water is up and stained...hopefully it will go down some
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 CDC - We will meet at Lime Kiln at 8:00 and then go to Allen with as few vehicles as needed. Like wily said it is up but steadily droping, though not real fast. It is a bit stained too. Fishing may be a little tough on this outing but we have the fall floatfest to look forward to for the fishing part. No rain in the forecast but clear sky's on Saturday....may make for a slow day of fishing for sure...but I am up for giving it my best effort.
ollie Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I won't make the float, but if you need someone to shuttle cars in the morning I can help before I head out of town. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members CDC Posted May 28, 2010 Members Posted May 28, 2010 You know. I got to thinking today that i can only haul one canoe on my vehicle. Unless someone has a trailer I am guessing that most of us are in the same boat (pun intended). Woulnd't it make more sense to meet at the put in and drop boats then take all the vehicles to the take out? I can haul way more people then boats. Just a thought. If I don't hear differently I will be at Lim Kilm at 8:00 a.m.
drew03cmc Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Can't make it, but I am wishing you all great fishing from my vacation spot up here in Omaha. On a side note, did some fishing today up here, caught a walleye and two largemouth. Lake was super sandy and shallow with lots of vegetation not conducive for throwing anything moving or the fly rod. Hope your day is as gorgeous as mine has been today! Andy
wily Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 i'm trying. we just got home from being out of town for two days. the boys are racked out on the couch. I'm not sure if we can make it but we'll do our best.
flytyer57 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 This is just a friendly reminder that the Spring Float & Fish , or what ever we are calling it this week, is this Saturday. I just wanted to get a final roll call of who all is coming and if we need to make any changes. I will edit this post as people sign in. Chief and Dylan I'll be there. Oh, that's right. I was. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
stinger160 Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Just wanted everyone to know I had a great time last weekend. Shoal Creek is a neat river, can't wait to get back. Thanks to Chief, Buzz, KC Riverrat and the others that organized the trip.
