Stream smallmouth of course. I also really enjoy eating a largemouth bass from Table Rock that is just full of eggs.

      You forgot the stream bred wild trout from LP, Mill, and Crane ..... those are tasty.

OK seriously .... I've been grilling salmon and tilapia. Made a few fried pollock fish sandwiches recently. I've still got a bunch of crappie fillets in the freezer too. I think I've also got 4 trout park rainbows.

Cheers. PC

Even though I voted for some of the fish I rarely take anything home. Maybe once a year.

Oh yeah, I did forget about that...

Really though- I have several trout park fish up in my freezer that I plan to eat soon, and I also eat a lot of bluegill from the local lake-along with a catfish every now and then.

I have some catfish from fellows lake, some crappie from stockton and fellows, and still about 30 white bass fillets from the run on the James river this spring. Have 8 fillets of trout park trout - the rest are Crane creek rainbows :P

I'm interested in the person who checked gar - I read an article in the Missouri Conservationist about eating gar - said they were really good when done right - are they? If I ever snag a biggun again, I wouldn't mind keeping em.

They're at least as good as snapping turtle, and about as tough to clean :)

Had walleye tuesday night caught from Mozingo up here in N.W. MIZZOU. Still have a couple of freezer bags left of it and plenty of crappie from there and the Kansas side also... on the darker side, watched my brother-in-law recently swallow a whole canadien crawler and sweared he'd never touch walleye again. Poor misguided fellow...

I marked several species, all the most common "eaters". Since most of my fishing lately has been on Taneycomo, I usually spend a little time below the Trophy area to catch some eatin' size bows. After cleaning them, I leave the skin on, split them, a little S&P and a lot of Emeral's Essence on the flesh side only. Then I put them flesh side down on a well seasoned cast iron ribbed grill heated very hot. A couple minutes and I have some fantastic blackened Rainbow Trout. YUM!!!
