The wife and I are wanting to make a two day float this weekend and crooked creek is the best place I can think of(everywhere else will be packed) I was thinking of puttig in at Bruno and floating to the slab. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Ham Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I would think there will be considerable amounts of walking at the present water levels. For, me CC has a pretty narrow range where it's good floating and good fishing. I look for between 13.25 to 12.25. It you don't mind some walking the fishing can be pretty decent at low water levels. When you say Bruno, do you mean launch at the Hwy 62 bridge near Pyatt? If so, that's almost 20 miles in 2 days. I'm sure there are some low spots but thats when the fishing is best. There has been plenty of rain the last couple days so I'm certain its easily floatable now. BTW, best day of fishing I've ever done
Ham Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Check the USGS guages and see if the river got a bump from recent rainfall. The ground was pretty dry so I'm not sure how much runoff there will be. Your not gonna get alot of bass, the limit on smallies is 1 per person and they have to be 18" everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

It was me and a friend and and we easily caught dinner. We don't keep'em over 18 or under 15 or so. Going back this week to do an overnight run.
