Sir, this is why there are different limits for different types of game. If the STATE LAW says there aren't any length limits and the count is 10 fish per day then that is the way that State's DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION set it up

Again that isn't correct...it is lake/river specific and if that specific lake or river doesn't have regulations it defaults to 0 length limit and 10 fish rule.

Check your destination in a current Arkansas Fishing Guidebook for area-specific regulations. Area-specific

Beaver Lake...

* Largemouth and smallmouth bass must be 15 inches or longer to keep.

* Spotted bass must be at least 12 inches long to keep.

* Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass combined daily limit is six. Smallmouth bass daily limit is six.

Ouachita...

Largemouth and spotted bass combined daily limit is six. Largemouth bass and spotted bass must be at least 13 inches or longer to keep.

Aitkins...

Largemouth bass from 16 inches to 21 inches must be released immediately to the water. Largemouth bass daily limit is four, of which one may be over 21 inches.

Again it depends on where they were fishing and the rule only applies on bodies of water that don't have any assigned regulations

I seriously doupt that you know him. If so give me his intials. Siening gamefish is totally against the law. Dont care if its private or not. Or at least it is in Missouri. Oh and some of the other pics he had of them there were fishing poles lying around the fish. Thats how I jumped to my conclusion!

I doubt it is illegal to sein a private farmpond. See people do it all the time when they are getting to rebuild a dam.

I suppose you can get a permit for such things. But to just go out and sein gamefish will land you in jail. Private or not.

How about this,,,,you bass guys quit keeping walleyes when you catch them and I will quit keeping bass.......Fair trade....He, he......By the way this post was just jokin around, even though I have seen alot of bass guys throw an incidental walleye into the livewell on TR after they catch it and are happy about it....I too, am glad for them.

However, when I throw a 15 inch kentucky in the livewell they think a mortal sin was committed. There are a hell of alot less walleye in TR than Kentuckies, so why don't everyone, release the walleye to give them a fighting chance. Comments are definitely welcome because I have wondered about this and would like to hear a bass fishermans opinion.

A bit of information I do not know is this: How do the different species compare considering reproduction rates? Are there significant differences in the number of eggs laid, bass, walleye, drum, bluegill, white bass and such? Same question for survival rates ? Seems like a fish that reproduces in much smaller numbers may require different attitudes and regulations than one that is very prolific. Anyone know how the bass compares to the walleye?

Hmm..

Of course I was just joshin' about knowin the guy..

I'll check with an agent about the legality of seining a private (non-MDC stocked) pond.. I'm relatively sure you can do whatever you want though.

By all means, disown/disavow/ex-communicate him from your prayer/sewing circle.

Still just means that facebook is the devil.. lol
