Members chubminner Posted July 3, 2010 Members Posted July 3, 2010 Hello everyone. I have been a lurker here for awhile. I have been thinking of buying a boat, I found a boat that looks pretty good but I have not heard much about them. It is a 18ft Weld-Craft boat with a 9 degree hull. Made in Benton,Arkansas. Have not been able to find any reviews on the web. I was hoping someone on here knows a little about them, good or bad.
Seth Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I have a Legend SS jet boat, which is a Weldcraft hull and then built to the specifications of Cowtown USA in Cuba, MO. It's an awesome boat is all I can say. This is the model I have with a 115/80 Etec jet on the back. 1852 Legend SS Flat Bass
Members chubminner Posted July 5, 2010 Author Members Posted July 5, 2010 Thanks for the input. I want to find a good boat that will last me several years.Usage will be about 98% lake ( lake ozark, truman, mark twain ) and 2% river (osage, missouri).
Seth Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Well my boat is built to take the hard use of running the shallow rivers so you should have absolutely no worries using it on a lake.

Members chubminner Posted July 31, 2010 Author Members Posted July 31, 2010 Well after looking around awhile, I think I have settled on a boat. I found a SeaArk Stealth 186 that looks like it will fit my needs perfectly. I will pick it up in about 3 weeks. I will give a little review on it after playing with it for a bit.
Members CapnKenny Posted April 11, 2011 Members Posted April 11, 2011 Hi, I see your post was awhile ago. I have a 186 Stealth with a Suzuki 140 that I'll be picking up the last week of this month or first week of April. I was wondering how you like the boat now that you have had it awhile? How is your outfitted?

I have a Seaark XV180 with 90 Suzuki, thats all the guy I bought it from would let him put on it but, I love it.The Stealth and the XV have the same hull I think which is an 18 degree hull??? I ordered mine with a second layer of .010 of aluminum so mine is heavy and dosen't run as fast.Mine will run only 40 mpn by the gps, it's all the faster I need to go.I also have three big batteries an onboard charger and a Motorguide tour 82, oh, and Hummingbird 788 ci di's on the front and console that also adds weight.I fish Tablerock,LOZ and Kentucky lake quite easily for my standards.Seaark makes a good hull I think you will enjoy and the Suzuki is really nice no matainence hardly and so quite you can have a conversation while running.i will post some pics
Members CapnKenny Posted April 12, 2011 Members Posted April 12, 2011 Ah funny, you have good taste my friend! I'm putting the Tour on the front of mine and thinking about the Humminbird 798 ci/si for the console. Does your Tour have built in transducer? I'm thinking about getting the model without it. I wasn't even considering a Suzuki outboard, but LSK in Lebanon is close by and they are both a Suzuki and SeaArk dealer. I have read nothing except good comments about the Suzuki outboards and looking forward to years of trouble free service. The Stealth is built out of .125 gauge material so it should take a beating from the Lake of the Ozarks waves. The only thing I wasn't that impressed with on the Stealth was the size and design of the livewell systems, but I'll make due. I'll be sure to post some pics when I get the new rig.

Ken, oh it will take a beating, I beat the crap out of mine. You have to sometimes the waves are impossible to avoid. My tour doesn't have the transducer but it will sure move that Seeark around great. The 798's are better than the 788's, I only have the down imaging but it still pretty rediculous with the maping cards and gps.You are also correct the livewells are small, I rarely if ever keep fish but, this last weekend at the LOZ the slabs were barely fitting in the livewell You are really going to like that 140 Suzuki with the gas prices.....just whatever you do or whatever LSK says always never run gas that has ethanol thru it and follow the break in intructions precisely.I wanted an Evinrude but like the Suzuki the only down fall is not that many certified Suzuki dealers/mechanics.That hull has alot of lift to it and planes really well, I met a guy in Arkansas that has a Camo Stealth it's pretty cool. You're going to have some fun post some pics and review of the rig, please.
