I was at my grandparents house and I remember them commenting on how long they thought their (the Beatles) hair was.

My, how the times have changed. Case in point (see my avatar)

Then again, my friends keep telling me to get it cut... :donwan:

I remember seeing Paul Mccartney making a total jackass out of himself by making a stupid comment about Bush when he played at the Whitehouse recently. Who cares who cares about the political aspect of it, talk about no class at all. Never to late to alienate people and make yourself look stupid in the process.

I remember seeing Bush make a jackass out of himself with his comments for eight straight years. laugh.gif

McCartney definitely overexposes himself because of his massive ego...he's my least favorite Beatle in terms of personality. The man is a musical genius, though. George was the coolest, and wrote the heaviest songs, especially in his solo years right after the breakup. All Things Must Pass? One of the top ten greatest albums, easy.

I remember seeing Bush make a jackass out of himself when ever he was on camera. He didn't even need to say anything and ya just knew he was a jackass just by looking at him. Which by the way caused me to require eye surgery after he finally left office.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Like I said, nevermind the political aspect of the whole thing. Who cares which president he was bashing. It would have sounded just as stupid if he was talking about Clinton or Obama.

If he were saying Clinton or Obama were stupid, or a jackass, yes he would have sounded stupid. But since he was bashing that bumbling idiot Bush, he probably made perfect sense.

Well, it is not if you guy's have any love for Clinton. How funny it is to hear the right always blaming the left for still blaming Bush, even though the left is making progess on fixing his _____ up's, and yet they still bring up Clinton almost 10 years later.

This isn't the direction I was headed but....

Mccartney could have put down any public figure and made himself look stupid.

There is plenty of Bush and Clinton Derangement Syndrome out there...enough to go around for both sides.

The point is, that you brought up, was that he put down Bush.

I commend Sir Paul McCartney for his brave actions.

If more of the stars (who have influence with their fans) would speak up, maybe people would start listening and get it through their thick skulls, that a man who works for some rich snob, does not belong voting for the right to begin with. And anyone who voted for Bush should really be asshamed (misspelling intentional) of themselves.

I believe I have heard many stars say thing like that, although it could have been a more constructive comment instead of "he doesn't know what a library is" (I don't see that as a brave comment). I have news for you, I would have brought it up regardless who he was talking about (maybe, as had it not been a President there likely would't have been media attention). You are correct, certain people can have the needed influence if they do it with tact.

The name Bush pushes buttons. I should have said former president.
