Smb, Sat. Float, Solitude

Recommended Posts

last year on labor day my wife and I floated crooked creek from georges creek to the slab and didn't see a single person. It was awesome. Caught two fish over 18" and bunches of smaller fish.

That is a float I need to do some day.

You would think that as popular as that float is, you would see a lot of canoes and kayaks out there. I keep hearing about how "there's nobody but us."

Hey Cheif! When we gonna do that float? Maybe do an OAF Labor Day float???

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

If I did, it would probably look like this next time. No thanks. Besides, I am getting old and starting to have Alzheimers, I have already forgotten.

That photo reminds me of why I put down my fishing rod around June and pick up my golf clubs, Ill pick up the rod again around October.

Man, you are missing out on so much great fishing now if all you're doing is chasing little white balls around with a stick.

We do the Spring River Float as a bunch of guys 3 times a year for a little beer and scenery. Not much fishing, but we do manage to catch a few here and there. One of the bunch was the one that floated with me yesterday and we both talked about how burned out we were getting on the party floats. Seriously, how many young kinis can one stand to look at anyway? Most hardbodies are trashed with tattos now anyway. Its like going into Ryan's when you are on a diet....

I have suggested others, but the bulk of the bunch like to rent cabins and have all the luxuries of home while there and are not really serious fishermen. Most are married and it is fun for them. But if some of the stuff we do shows up on facebook like it did last month, some of their wives may put a stop to it. Next weekend is the second of the trio of parties, usually the wildest float of the summer. I will follow it up with a couple of days with another bunch of family and friends from Texas and STL at Jack's Fork. It will be mid week and should be a good time with some good fishing.

When ya get to be an old man of 50+ and you've been with the same woman for umpteen years, a hardbody with or without tattoos is still a nice thing to look at. And some of those tramp stamps do look kinda sexy.

This old man of 50+ with a wife of 27 years still thinks tats are trashy no matter what female body they are on. Maybe it's the artist in me, but I've never seen a tattoo that enhanced the body it was on. And if you have a good body, why modify it with tattoos and piercings that just call attention away from the natural assets?

Whenever you wanna go we can. Maybe next monday. either take my canoe or take the pontoons. I think a OAF two day crooked creek float would be sweet.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

I agree totally. I am still a youngin' at 28 but I believe women are the most beautiful with no makeup or anything....that being said I can look at "hardbodies" all day long without getting tired.

Well, I guess you have to like tattoos to enjoy some of those sexy tatt's. I really don't mind tattoos at all (I do have a few) or peircings (of which I have none). If some girls do it right, they look good to me.
