eric1978 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Yesterday Wheat and I floated a Gasconade tributary and a bit of the Gasconade itself. We also did a little fishing. The rivers were pretty. Lots of bridges on this float. We got rained on, and it was great. Had a few cold ones. Some plump largemouth... And some hard-fighting smallmouth. The dangers of chewing tobacco... A fantastic day on the river!
Wayne SW/MO Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Nice!! Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
KCRIVERRAT Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Looks like you guys had a great day! Nice smallmouth Eric... HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Looks like a nice trip. I had planned on putting in around Devil's Elbow this year and floating to the Gas. But I don't think it will happen. I am guessing from the pic's you guy's started on the Little Piney?????? Another float I want to do. Wheatie, you'll never make chief of your tribe with that hat. You gotta fold up that brim some! And that smallmouth didn't get that from tobacco. That is a direct result of C&R brownie fishing. That is why you should be a KFC (keep, fry, consume) fisherman. Especially when brownie fishing. I'd rather catch a fish with a screwed up face than not catch him at all...he still pulled mighty hard and was healthy as could be. Ugly, yes, but still fun. I would have been more disappointed to make that cast and come up empty than to make that cast and hook elephant face. There were plenty of greenies to be had for the fryer...more greenies than I care to remember, and they didn't mind wasting every other cast trying to eat something half their size.
flytyer57 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I'm stuck at home doing body work on my van and you guys tease me with this? Shame on both of you. But at least you had fun... There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Wheatenheimer Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 You gotta fold up that brim some! There is lots of brim to be folded, for sure. I need one of those pimpin feathers from your rooster to set it off! I had a good time yesterday. That afternoon Thunderstorm sure did feel good!
Gavin Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Glad you guys had a good trip....I know a few of those bridges, thanks for the report.
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Ugly, yes, but still fun. Hey you was right. I tried that recipe you sent me for smallmouth and scambled eggs. Man I got to tell you, them was the best eggs I ever had. I need one of those pimpin feathers from your rooster to set it off! You got it. Buzz Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Looks like a great day. That's one nice brownie Eric. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
