Norm M Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Norm, by those standards, I would have to agree that this is pretty tame. But it does draw lots of odd looks and even more compliments from random strangers. So, now for the long awaited pictures. There is a before (from July) and an after (today at Bennett). Sorry for the poor quality, friend took it with a phone. And it is blue with red tips, I was just in the shade and the color doesn't show up that well... Rob Well for me it was a divided reaction, outrage from many, acceptance from more than one would think and the chicks loved it. All of which were cool but the chicks digging it was the best part. what a long strange trip it's been , put a dip in your hip, a glide in your stride and come on to the mother ship , the learning never ends
Kayser Posted September 7, 2010 Author Posted September 7, 2010 No outrage, just disbelief followed by respect that I actually followed through with it. My friends never believed me when I said I was gonna get one. But it is VERY popular- making new friends left and right. The wind has become a problem, because it blows the line into the hair! But beyond that, it's all good. No tattoos or piercings- those are a little too permanent. And I like being able to work around high magnetic fields on campus- that's where the fun toys are. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
stlfisher Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I once caught a guy with a Mohawk in his Mohawk. His dad thought it was the funniest thing ever. He may still have that fly in his hair.
flytyer57 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Rob Nice. I just got my haircut and thought about getting a mohawk, but it sure as heck would not have been that long. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Members RJMAcres Posted September 7, 2010 Members Posted September 7, 2010 Back in the day, I had hair down to the middle of my back, a beard to the middle of my chest, orange plaid bell bottoms, paisley shirt, love beads with peace sign, fatigue coat with Woodstock emblem and sandals. Multicolored mohawk seems tame. I pretty much still look that way. Or did until recently. The heat got to me and I cut my hair real short. Gave up the bell bottoms, paisley dung and beads years ago. Weren't real practical on the farm. Good to see another old hippie still around.

I wish flair leg jeans would come back. If you want bell bottoms, you might be able to still get them at the Army/Navy surplus stores. flytyer57 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Boot cuts work ok. That's what I have to settle for. Flair legs still have more room over boot tops and the still look nicer to me. If bell bottoms ever come back like in the 60's and early 70's, I'm in. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
