Well I have the weekend off to fish and I'm either heading to Mountain Home or Taney. MH is my first choice but they are getting some rain and I'd like to wade.

I'm going to camp at Norfork if in MH or The State Park if I go to Taney.

I can't find anybody that can get away so I'll be a loner mission. Is anybody going to be around. Do some fishing, maybe have a beer in the evening? Post up boys.

If you end up in Mountain Home, give me a pm before ya leave and we can get together and fish and of course have some brewskis. The rain is only supposed to last till Thursday and only a slight chance of rain on the weekend. Norfork and the White river should be wadable. Since the rain we are getting today is light, Crooked Creek and the Buffalo may also be wadeable. I'm sure we could get gotmuddy involved too.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Too bad JDC, I won't fish Sunday. I have to drive home.

Maybe next time?

At this point I'm planning on Mountain Home. We'll see what the rain does.

I just checked the gages for Crooked Creek and the Buffalo. They are up, but in no way are they up enough to stop anyone from wading.

What kind of fishing are you looking to do?

I mainly come down to flyfish for trout but I also like to bass fish with conventional tackle.

I've always wanted to fish one of those rivers for smallies if that's what you have in mind. Just never really persued it.

I'm open to any kind of fishing, except noodling.

I never fished the Norfork and the White only once.

I've fished Crooked Creek for smallies a lot. Only a few times on the Buffalo.

You say you want to camp at Norfork? RV? Camper? Tent?

You can do an overnighter at the Snow access of Crooked Creek. Not sure if they allow campers tho and it's a narrow gravel road a mile or more to the access. That's where gotmuddy and I caught some nice 18" smallies the last time we went out.

Pick where you want to go and let me know what's up. I'll be more than happy to meet you and do some fishing (flyrods, spinning, casting) and beer drinking around a fire while shooting the bull.

Here's a pic of the 18 incher I caught.

Yeah I tent camp at Norfork dam so I can fish right there in the morning. They have electric, privies and the guy up the road sells wood.

I'll PM you tomorrow before I leave. Maybe trout fish the Norfork or White in the morning and go over to Crooked in the afternoon?

Sounds ok but the smallies usually quit biting in the late morning. But then the waters cooling off, so maybe the PM bite will be ok.
