What Effects The Bite?

This is probably outside the scope of what you were asking but many time people stand (wade) where they should be fishing.

I learned this long ago.

Dano

Dano..could you exspand on this? Do you mean to say that you have actually seen people standing in the holes that are holding the fish?

There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit

Any time a good thunderstorm is rolling in. I went on the James for the white bass run last year when a thunderstorm was coming in, and even though it was the middle of the day, I couldn't keep them off. Fish just like to feed right before the storm. Something to do with the pressure, and sudden cloud cover, I suppose.

What do you think the thunder does for the bite? I've been fishing in thunderstorms and the bite just completely stopped, I assumed it was the thunder.

This is no big earth shattering information. It happens all the time.

They should know... Dano and Ronnie are CONSTANTLY standing in the place I want to fish and there are always fish at their feet.

Seriously, they are correct.

Then again, when fishing Taney, the size and number of fish at your feet is ALWAYS 10 times that of those at the end of your fly line... no matter WHERE you stand... even on the bank... STOOPID PHEESH!!!!

TIGHT LINES, YA'LL

I'm not sure - Course, there wasn't a lot of thunder - the day started out clear, and then the storm just blew in in a matter of hours - I assumed it was the sudden change of conditions - but I left when the thunder/lightning got bad. When it was rolling in though, the fish went nuts. I've fished a thunderstorm in Taneycomo once and I had good success (that was the time my flyline got caught in my glasses, and I lost them in fast waist deep water. but the fishing was good)
