They shocked up every species you mentioned except walleyes, which they never really do between Greer and Turner. They were only collecting trout this time out.

No surprises really. Lots of 11-15 inch fish with some bigger 20 inch + thrown in there as well. Population looks good now.

Thanks Brian. Years ago on that stretch you would have came across walleye in the deeper holes, but since the mysterious walleye decline they are getting scarce on the whole river system. Alot of it depends on what they are surveying and where they shock.

No carp yet I hope.

Brian, Tito (or anyone who may know):

I was up a few weeks back and Cane to Greer ran LOW with a moderate amount of dragging, but it wasn't what I'd call "prohibitive." For the record, I was in a canoe with another equally portly fellow (my dad) and our combined weight plus gear was easily 500 lbs.

I'd be riding higher this weekend in my kayak. Just curious: How low is low? I really like that stretch and want to do it, but no way I am dragging all 9.3 miles of it. Give me a prognosis. I know it's not your "money" stretch, but it's a nice float. Anybody looked at levels above Greer and have a read on it?

Thanks for the help!

If you were here a few weeks ago not much has change river levels are down about 1/2 inch at the most since then (3weeks ago)

kayak will be fine there was a couple of kayaks on friday that did that section I asked them how much they dragged and they said it wasn't that bad asked a canoe that floated past me at the spring branch they had two poeple and overnight gear piled high said they dragged a few times but didn't have any real problems so according to them it doesn't sound like it's to low for just a kayak and one person

I don't think your be dragging alot you will drag where you dragged a few weeks ago and I'd say thats it

hope that helps you

Word on the street is there will be a large contingent of drunkards on the 11 Point this weekend. If anybody's got a score to settle with fishing legend/forum provocateur Paul Dallas, this would be your chance. Lots of places to hide a body down there.

Its true. I will be in the area. Japanese paparazzi are already combing the campgrounds in preparation for my arrival. Plan is to harass the locals, harm the wildlife, and disturb the general peace. We will be heavily armed and if this relapse into meth doesn't improve, highly paranoid and easily provoked.

It helps a ton. Thanks, Tito. We did that stretch Labor Day weekend (the only stretch we did Labor Day weekend that wasn't bumper boats) and, as I said, it was not great, but tolerable from a dragging perspective. Thanks again for the reply. I'll let you guys know if we get into the smallies. If I don't have a report up by next Tuesday, you can safely assume that we couldn't catch a cold.
